The Return of Women on Main Street
Look down the main street of almost any small town or local community, and you will see something remarkable: a vibrant, bustling corridor powered by local entrepreneurship. If you look a little closer at the faces behind those storefront counters, workshop tables, and office desks, another striking pattern emerges.

Our main streets are thriving because of women.
Whether running their own enterprises or co-operating family businesses alongside their spouses, women are instrumental in keeping our local commercial districts alive. In fact, in many of our towns, women are entirely essential to the survival and growth of our local economies.
That realization was the spark behind Women on Main Street.
How It All Began
Women on Main Street started as an idea from KMI Consulting, a woman-owned business operated by a dynamic mother-and-daughter duo. Day in and day out, they noticed the sheer volume of local shops, service providers, and creative hubs driven by female leaders—and recognized how much of the local economy relied on their dedication and vision.
To bring these incredible leaders into the spotlight, KMI Consulting partnered with WOWSA.
Together, the vision was simple yet profound: give these women a voice. While Women on Main Street continues to grow expanding its limits beyond the WOWSA borders, KMI Consulting travels around the area to interview these amazing women and runs the Women on Main Street social channels. WOWSA continues to play a valuable role showcasing the Women on Main Street features.
What Women on Main Street Is All About
Women on Main Street is a dedicated feature series created to showcase the inspiring individuals who form the backbone of our local business districts. It provides a platform to hear directly from these women in their own words:
Their Stories: How they took the leap into business ownership and built their brand from the ground up.
Their Businesses: What they offer, how they serve the community, and what makes their craft special.
Their Drive: What motivates them through early mornings, tough seasons, and changing market trends.
Their Vision: Anything and everything they want to share with their community, customers, and aspiring female entrepreneurs.
Rather than just listing local shop hours or products, Women on Main Street dives into the human stories, resilience, and passion that turn a standard street of storefronts into a tight-knit community center.
